In May 2005 I set out to start recording what I thought was my neighborhood..'s version of SMACK DVD. Instead of names like 5o cent and Big Pun, I was following artists like J-Nick and Hitmakerz. Instead of trying to get interviews withg R. Kelly and Daddy Yankee I was on camera choppin..' it up with JV Darapsinga and Rima Records. With my sidekick and childhood best friend DJ Halfmoon I was able to interview, analyze and capture the essence of what Roxbury and the greater Boston music scene had to offer.
My hard work and dedication to professionalism had gained the attention of several people. eventually I was approached and asked to make Ovamotorvated official. This would mean create an identity...no,... a name brand, around the name .."Ovamotorvated..". I was definitely up for the challenge. The first thing I did was start to commit things to paper and implement ideas for growth as quickly as humanly possible. Ovamotorvated quickly gained New England wide recognition through myspace. As a matter of fact, not everyone believes me but I was the first to start personalized videos for independant artists on myspace. Never having been to school for web design or any formal training in html I struggled to find a way to post home made videos on a myspace profile. Once the idea was up and running the copy cats came out of the wood work. Presently Youtube is the most common tool used to accomplish this. I..'d like to consider myself the ..'grandfather..' of that concept.
