GETTING STARTED & Welcome to all Newbies ... 2008-04-09)

Hi Folks, "Yuwie Friends" and welcome to all new Yuwie users. I've added a few tid bits of info that I wish I had when I first signed up and hopefully it will help other newbies just arriving", enjoy:

This is a great site, and via trial and error I"m finding that Yuwie is functionally a little different forum from that of Hotmail & Facebook. The biggest bonus is it accommodates greater ease for broad "real-time" group discussion with many people for, learning, brainstorming, creative networking, both business & personal communication and is an interesting social forum for those whom want to become more social but may be restricted in time, (single parents, traveling business professionals, etc). This forum is also great for "Rant Culture" check out the "Yuwie Radio" and its chat site.

Currently Facebook is really for close friends and family sharing up-dates, photos and small details until people get a chance to see each other. Hotmail is like a virtual postal box for more generic communication and for e-magazines, advertising, & keeping from junk mail being sent to your home, and protecting your confidentiality of information.

Now lets get you started:

I recommend if anyone is interested in genuinely networking and meeting people to up-date your shout box to give some details about yourself and your interest in Yuwie and it will advise clearly of your intent and what you're expecting from friends and them of you, regardless if it be recreational interest, networking, learning, socializing etc, and if you forward add invites you start to gather a network of like minded contacts as friends or professional contacts and you can filter as you go along at your choosing.

Lol, should any foolery occurs beyond that, then politely decline, and if there is any minunderstanding, your site will support what you're advising. The next step is "REPORT IT", for the most part folks are pretty reasonable, but be advised its there ... "just in case". Some folks have some weird ideas of what the internet is, but as a general rule, if you wouldn't do it in person, than its a bad idea to do it on the net.

Feel free to read the BBC News clips at the top of my Blog for further details, my current earnings to date and the other blogs to help you get started. Now being realistic I don't think we'll become millionaires and retire just yet, but I must say information does travel quite quickly in comparison to to Facebook, Myspace or Utube, here on Yuwie, and if you get a large social network developed, its possible to start generating income slowly. but you need both an active personal and referral network, only then will you start to accumulate page views, and this is what Yuwie compensates for. Things will start to happen after that. For example 3000 page view equals about $0.15. For example if you forward interesting info from a "Yuwie Friend", a simple FYI may help add hundreds of page views, so be creative with your networking.

I'll continue to invite everyone to my site, up-date any developments and of the monthly dollars accumulated (or pennies) whichever occurs, month over month to show what efforts equal the compensation. Also continue to read the steps below to further assist with your setting up or up-dating your profile.

* Manage your personal information. Rememeber "keep it confidential", personal info should be kept confidential at all times. Home addresses, phone numbers etc should not be posted for public viewing, when in doubt, "don't".

* For all you "aspiring millionaires & social folks (the latter would be me)" be sure to create a "Public Profile", as friends and referrals need to be able to view your profile to accumulate "page views" and to communicate with you, otherwise, a Private Profile" is another great option.

* Feel free to add friends that you chat with on MSN, Yahoo, Excite, to your email auto signatures, to your blogs, and to any other friend sites such as Pogo Games, Classmates, Facebook etc where you feel comfortable inviting friends to join and chat. However overall use your best judgement when sharing, lol, perhaps at the bottom of work e-mails would not be recommended ; ).

* Accept "Yuwie friends" or 'send invites" to increase page views and if you have great information to share, this is another way to increase views. For example, I've added some folks from some of the clubs I've joined and have come accross some great books/interest reading as a result. And another is creating a group for any hobbies or intrests you may have. Such as scrapbooking, quilting, crochetting, sports, skiing, TV shows or just about any other interests you may have, use your imagination. Personally, I'm always interested in good business read recommendations, and recreational reads.

* Join the YIFF (Yuwie International Friends Factory) if you are interested in adding many new "Yuwie friends". First join the YIFF club, then post your url to the following site to be added http://ww10.yuwie.com/blog/entry.asp?id=113303&eid=149590

* Or this is another crazy add site (very efficient) http://ww10.yuwie.com/clubs/club.asp?id=4616

* Or if you are looking for a more active method of referral collection look to the top 5 "Friends" in my friends list and they will be good examples of next steps. Check out there profile and their referral blogs.

* Another great hint, Yuwie is not a replacement to other apps such as Facebook and Hotmail, but a great "add-on". If you use Yuwie as a centralization tool and add your favorite/most used links into your blog for personal use, Yuwie will start tracking your "personal usage" and you can see how quickly 10 or 15 minutes of net use daily REALLY adds up. Its no simplier than that. By centralizing your "Daily Routine" you can start accumulating more page views.

As an example I've added hotmail, facebook, etc and my weekly department on-line store flyers to my blog. As I'm all about saving time, I do my weekly (or bi-weekly) shopping online, make a quick list of my weekly grocery and shopping needs (also go during non-peak hours to avoid crowds, (I shop at 10-11pm and it takes about 30-45 minutes), its not just a time saver but also a stress saver, and if you stick to your list you will cut down on "impulse" purchasing. As a result I'm saving time and money using the internet....hmm great concept. Ok, sorry, starting to sound like an addict, ok, moving forward.

* Next, save up-dating visual, graphic or esthitic changes should be last. You want your functionality up and running first. The esthetics can come later, rest assured, when you have time to spend in front of the TV, you can make the changes later. Lol or like some folks, changes can happen more frequently such as monthly, weekly or even daily depending on your preference.

Everyone, let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or feel free to use any of the suggestions above on your own profile, and be creative with your usage, and feel free to share new info.

Have fun!

Lisa

PS Just an FYI I"m sure much like everyone we are all busy, lol, but I'm now receiving a large number of e-mails daily, and it seems to be increasing (yikes). So be advised if you send me a message, don't be offended if I don't respond immediately I'm just clearing my e-mails, but I will respond at my first opportunity. Take Care, Chat Soon.
