| Summer....... 23.7.2008 12:38:0 -0100
How is everyone's summer coming along? For me I would rather be in the Caribbean sipping on a pina colada and smelling the salt in the air under a palm tree at the coco beach. This "Staycation" really blows and primarily have spent my time working. Though I must admit I did go to the beach this past weekend and it was nice. I must say only one thing bothered me and well I remember years ago when going to the beach you were able to stay "till the cows came home". Lifeguards left at their usual time and if you stayed at the beach it was at your own risk, which most people did anyway. I guess honestly it has been a while since I have been to a NYC beach because I was surprised when at 6PM the parks department staff came with bullhorns letting people know they had to get out of the water and go home "cause manana is another day"! I understand the fact that some people are unrulely and they just don't take precautions when getting in the water. People knowingly go far out whether they know how to swim or not without taking into consideration undertoes, heavy waves their own lives and then it comes full circle and those of us who can be safe and use good judgement kind of lose out. At 6PM the sun was still out and I was still basking and enjoying the breeze as many others such as myself were and basically in not so many words "get out" was what we heard. Keep in mind I was not in the water. The Parks Dept worker stood there watching over everyone like a hawk watching for its prey waiting to see if anyone dared to go to the water to hand out a $250.00 summons for infractions. After a while people started getting disgusted with the whole thing and started packing up and heading out. What was I to do? I packed up to, it was no longer fun just sitting there and watching Ms. Grumpy watch me while I snacked on some chips while listening to my MP3. So basically that was the end of that and it was now time to go home. Still have another month before the summer says goodbye hopefully will be able to enjoy more of it since July has gone so quickly. Till next time..... N@Y | Hello Members... 1.7.2008 21:29:0 -0100
I know it has been a while since I have posted anything. I have been dedicating the past few weeks to developing the business as well as keeping up with my writing. In case many don't know I am writing a memoir about my life and that is taking up my time as well. Recently I went to a Career Bootcamp Workshop and that turned out to be very informative it was held by Womenforhire.com and Tory Johnson. Womenforhire.com is a wonderful organization for women which I highly recommend.
On Saturday June 28, 2008 I just celebrated my five year wedding anniversary. It was quiet I spent it home with my hubby because he had to work part of the day and he was somewhat exhausted after work so we stayed home. And to think this time last year we were separated and very close to a divorce. As they say all things happen for a reason and we have been blessed to be given a second chance at our marriage.
I am also getting things ready for the the online show and trying to get all the bands and artists together to showcase on its premiere date. As always I will announce it here and of course it will be "Live". The other project I am working on is the newsletter which will also be coming out sometime in September and I will let you know through here when it will be available. Also for anyone of you who have sent me an email and have not received a response my email was having some trouble but will be back online soon and I will respond to all your inquiries or I can also be contacted at nayscafe@gmail.com if you need my response quickly. Thank you to all my friends for supporting me because without you and your support none of what I do would have a purpose.

| RSS FEED | Family Outing to Olive Garden Hey folks! Hope everyone's week is going great and hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend as much as I did. I went out with my hubby and my daughter and her boyfriend to the Olive Garden for a nice family dinner. We all walked out of their ready to pop....seriously! The food there is wonderful rich and very tasty as well as very reasonable for the kind of food you are getting so as a suggestion in the recipe section of this website I have posted a short cut to one of their meals that you can make at home with no problem and is very tasty. Who says you can't eat at home like you would at a restaurant? Check it out...its my version of "Chicken Alfredo" with the exception it will take you about 20 minutes to prepare. At the Olive Garden each ordered dish would be $19.95 made at home it's less than $20.00 and serves four. Enjoy! | Spucin' Up The Place!!! Hey my Cafe members,

| MTA "Doomsday" hike again...what the f$&)(????? Hello and welcome and please excuse my headline though I can imagine that those of you who are living in New York are most probably feeling the same way I do.....CHOKED!
Today the MTA will be giving all New Yorkers their verdict on whether we will be paying the additional .50 coming June and as of May train services will be cut by a fraction of what it is now. What burns me up is just several years ago there was a report on the news where there was some suspicion of the MTA "cooking" the books. The news was aired and for some reason eventually I never heard the outcome of that. No one asked the MTA to share with the public tax paying citizens what the hell is going on with the profits received. Its like POOF the news mysteriously disappeared no one questioned I never heard the verdict on it. I was busy with my life at the time and never persued the outcome of that. I even asked several people if they had heard about that on the news so it wouldn't seem I was crazy some people said yes they had heard about it and yet others said they hadn't. Those who did never followed it up and those who didn't hear about it said "are you sure you heard correctly"? My thing is why weren't those books opened to the public MTA is making money from everywhere....really! If you look at your Con Edison bills you will notice at the bottom of the bill a portion though small goes towards the MTA same goes with Verizon but not sure with Brooklyn Union Gas. That is not including what we New Yorkers pay daily to ride the train back and forth on a daily basis. I remember when I was a kid riding the bus or train was .50 ....ahhh those were the days! It was affordable enough that it made you want to travel around the city. Listen I can understand things have to go up in life but this is a big squeeze not just for me but for many.
Most recently I was watching PBS regarding the MTA and it seems they have already signed a contract to fix the tracks of the Long Island Railroad for which we really don't have the money for and would take at least 11 years worth of fairs to pay for it. The vote has already come in and it seems there is nothing we can do about it "Doomsday" is near and not only will there be fair hikes there will be service cuts and many pink slips in an already highly unemployed NY. We actually have till May 31, 2009 before we know if Albany plans to bail us out of this hike otherwise the fair will be $2.50 starting June 1, 2009. Good luck New York!
"Paying more and getting less an equation that is for sure not adding up"! | New Year Big Changes..... Well hoping that everyone had a fabulous New Year it is time to get back to work and back to the daily grind. As some of you may or may not know this year after 16 years I will be a mom once again so that in itself is a surprise as well as new for the 2009 New Year.
As far as Nay's Cafe during the summer we acquired some new members and although we are small we have a rating of 3, 993,263 so obviously we are being noticed out there. We have band members from three bands here "Atom Heart Brothers", "Prozak" and "EN7". we want to welcome them and show them much love. I have uploaded some of their songs for your listening pleasure and any upcoming shows or events will be posted here.
This year I want everyone's input and suggestions Nay's Cafe is like a family and as such if there is something you want to see or here or want added to our Network please send me a note. Folks those of you with no pics please add them if you can even a gif is okay. Hope to be able to speak to you in one way or another soon throughout the year.
God bless you all and have a wonderful New Year!
