A SOCIAL site that makes MONEY or a MONEY making site that is SOCIAL?

Well as Yuwie grows we have to ask ourselves, "Why did we join YUWIE?"

Did you join just to network socially and maybe pocket some spare change? Or did you join thinking, I will make lots of cash, just by clicking around looking at blogs, hot chicks, or guys with great abs?

Either way, we can't be upset with anyone, for the reason they are here, because we all chose to be here for different reasons.

Originally, I thought, I will make a little money here and blog on the side. While I was trying to have fun being social I got "spanked", by a "money making member" for "playing games" and not working hard enough to get referrals.......hmmmm

So I ask the question is this a SOCIAL site that makes MONEY, or a MONEY making site that is SOCIAL? As always your thoughts are always welcomed.........

Eh...I'm here for both I suppose. It's always great to make new friends and if you're making money on the side as well...double bonus.

Honey you know my thoughts on this. Yes I joined with the money in mind - but to keep it going we NEED to make it interesting. AND not just cash orientated.

To me Yuwie is both, we can enjoy having friends and
and make money while having fun. It is good to have best
of both worlds.

i took it and used it as a social site that makes money! I just wish my friends would come here instead of other places. as I would just like to go to one place for my online social needs.

I don't know. I could easily get very discouraged but I don't. Just the way of the world these days, isn't it. It's not good or bad; our own attitude will make the determination.

Well, I love the social aspect, but the money was a great incentive, too! One of my friend/downlines (NOT direct referral), Victor has a really fun site, I love to go read his blogs because they are fun! He has no referrals, but in looking at his page, I had to come to the conclusion that the reason he has so many page views is because he is having fun! His best success will be, I think, by giving his friends HIS MAIN PAGE URL, because everybody enjoys it so much! Then, when he sends them to his page, he can ask them to get back in touch and at THAT point he can give them his referral URL. He'll get lots of pageviews because his page is fun, his friends will come because they enjoy him not to make money, and he'll have a group of friends to whom money making is secondary, but with a group like that it doesn't need to be primary!
So, it depends on who you are as to whether this is a money-making site that's social or vice versa. I like the people, and would be here in any case!

I see these guys that are here for the money, and I see the ones here for friends, and you know what? They all complain about something one or the other is doing. It bugs me when those that are "serious" about making money complain about how they don't want to participate in games, and yet they chalk up that page veiw that someone gave them with a pass alone comment. Silly. For whatever reason we are all here, I say, run your own Yuwie the way you want, and if someone has something to say about it, keep in mind that if they really were offended by whatever you were doing, they would have messaged you, not blogged it, putting it on the friend feed, seeking more page veiws and turning more people off, right?

I started only a few days ago. My first interest was the money. Then I got into the way the system works and started to enjoy making new contacts- especially in other parts of the world.
I am an active participant in other online communities with no money.
I read someone's comment that she'd gotten a whopping thirty five cents last month. So... I'm here for the friendship, the money is a bonus.

Thanks for bringing this up. For me, it's social first, money second. What attracted me initially was that they stated you could only join as a referral and that that was supposed to keep the quality up - the spam, etc. down. Now that I'm here, I find that many suggest a flood of referral attempts to make more money. Unfortunately, that sort of negates what I was hoping the "referrals only" policy would accomplish.

I've haven't been pushing referrals myself because, if I do invite folks, I want them to find a really great place that they will ENJOY. Lately, with the speed challenges, etc., I thought I'd take a bit of a "wait and see" approach, before I try getting my online friends onboard. I really do have fun updating my profile and viewing those of my friends (and their friends). I know I could get lots more views by flooding add requests, but I'm more a quality over quantity kind of guy.

Then again, what do I know? After all, I'm just a bozo.

Thank you for bringing up this interesting (and important) subject.
I'm new to this site. I've just registered yesterday. However, I've got a lot of people asking me to add them. I wonder if they liked my profile or just want to make money. It doesn't feel nice. It's as if these money-making ideas are exploiting friends and their concept of "friendship". I don't know whether to concentrate on making money or socializing. It's a great site, but I'm not used to having my own blog. Moreover, I don't like to rush things in a disorganized way. Everyone's running here and there adding friends and doing whatever to earn things (money or interests). We need time, people! We need to make a well-established foundation before we really delve into things like these (making money out of socializing).
It's good to be conscious about many things in life, but it's not that nice to be always conscious about your socializing actions on the Internet, eh?

Sigh... I'm sorry, but I don't know how to express what I'm feeling.. It's just that I don't like to spend a lot of precious time building up a site for nothing. It'll all go... Also, we have to sacrifize our other sites/blogs/online albums for this one. For example, I have two online albums and now I have to bring them here in order to build this new profile...

Hope it's worth it. For many of the people who added me didn't even "socialize" with me. However, it's not good to be judgmental. And it's too early to judge things around here. Perhaps everyone's trying to get the hang of doing things here (especially for people who're new to blogs) then every thing's going to be nice and smooth, hopefully. ^_^

Sorry for all this blabbering. Once I start typing, I can't stop. lol Well, I'm stopping myself now. :P

Take care all. Nice to meet you (online). ^_^

Best regards,
Mona (aka Solness or Wisedampeal)

Yes we all joined for different reasons. I love making new friends. Good friends are hard to come by and harder to keep. I have been a member since late august and still don't have any referrals. No matter what I do they are just not signing up. So this site to me is a little of both but leaning way on the social side.
Reply | 10/10/2007 8:38:31 AM
Well, I think it's impossible to make big money here, except for the first few hundreds. I agree with statement that Yuwie will be what we make from it.

I'm a member of many social networks but here i have some feelings that I'm the key, I mean that I build this community, I don't have that relations in other social networks.

Heh..... and my primary goal when I came here? As in other social networks: i have a lot of sites and I want to redirect (or offer, whatever...) people from here to visit my sites

I firmly believe if we look after the social side the money making side will follow. As with most things it's quality of referrals and not quantity that counts.
Keep on keepin' on....

I came because of the money but I stayed because of the friends.
Which is a good thing becuz I ain't havin' no luck gettin' referrals!
Reply | 10/10/2007 10:35:08 PM
I agree with noot 54 If we take care of the social side and forget about the money when socializing with our new friends the money will come. Take your advertising to the places where it will do you some good.
Remember we get paid by the money Yuwie makes if we keep putting up free adds why would the paying advertisers bother to pay. Then where's the money?

Both really,
I really like the sharing ideas side of it, some real clever people on this site with great ideas, what started of as a moneymaking idea, has become more social and friendly as I use it.
great blog by the way :-)
