I'm Back! - Merry Christmas!
I'M BACK!

I was forced to vanish for a number of days because our Internet provider shut off our service. We were behind on our monthly payment for Internet service, so they shut it off again Monday the 15th. :( We weren't able to get back online again until today.

Among other "fun" things that have been going on, about 3 weeks ago, one of the tires died on our car. The tire wasn't even close to fixable, as I could poke my thumb through the thin part of it. We certainly got all the use we could get out of it, and then some. We put on the spare (one of those donut tires) and have been driving around with that. It actually worked pretty good, except I had to be careful not to drive too fast. All of a sudden, the donut started having a slow leak, and I had to put air in it every day. This week, it started losing air faster. We picked up a can of fix-a-flat from the store for $1.50, and put that in the tire. It helped for a couple of days, then started going flat faster again. Thursday, we checked the donut closely, and found out that it had picked up a screw. I took out the screw, and put in another can of fix-a-flat. Didn't work. The donut became so flat that it separated from the rim, and we couldn't air it up any more. When the donut was all the way flat, the rim still wasn't touching the pavement. I decided to try to drive it carefully down to the tire shop that way (about 10 mph). We actually made it. Now our car apparently doesn't have a common tire size, so at the two tire shops nearby, neither had a used tire we could get. (About six weeks ago, we were able to get a used tire for $25.00. This time, we weren't so lucky.) Our only choice was to get a new tire, and the cheapest new tire that would fit was $101.15! Since my wife would get paid Friday, we wrote a check for the tire because it wouldn't be cashed until Friday. Car operational again.

What has caused the problem with the tires in the first place, is something is wrong with the front end of the car. Not just alignment, but more... so I have to be extra careful driving it as it is. And we can't get that fixed until we get a little money ahead. :(

Since we had to spend the extra money for the tire, and it cost $100 to get our Internet turned again, that was going to leave us short on funds.

We had gotten a payday loan at Money Tree about four weeks ago.  It would be due Monday, so we went there Saturday to pay the roughly $25 to get an extension on our loan.

To add to that, we are also behind on our electric bill. To save money, we've been keeping the house about 55 degrees, and then bundling up.

It's really been a crappy week!

Anyway, I probably won't be on for the rest of today and tomorrow, so I want to wish you all a great holiday!

Love you all!

Bloody Hell...... I thought your blog was going to get better but things just kept getting worse. Things are not so bad here in my part of the woods not in the circles I travel in anyway. The situation is starting to get worse in the general population of course. People went ballistic at the end of year sales of course booking their credit cards up to the hilt, not realising what hell they are creating for their imidiate futures as the recession becomes more obvious. I don't think half of them must watch the news. I feel guilty because I haven't got my own veie garden in( due mainly to the fact that it has been a drought) That will change very soon though as we have a tropical low sitting up the top of Australia in a monsoonal trough. Should get interesting very soon . Will more than likely will flood soon. Anyways you guys take care and keep in touch when you can. You brighten our day.....

My Greatest Prize
It seems as each year ends,
I look back and think of my friends,
What I did right what I did wrong,
Who came into my life and who is gone.

But every year there are those who remain,
Looking only for friendship nothing else to gain.
They have stayed by me through good and bad,
Smiled when I am happy held me when I've been sad.

After so many years you begin to realize,
That a friend is life's greatest prize,
Not the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow,
That we seem to seek where ever we go.

So as I grow older and begin another New Year's Day,
I will thank God for those friends He sent my way.
And my New Years resolution will always be,
To thank Him again for every breath of life He's given me.

Then I will pray He will show me the way,
Give me wisdom and guide me through each day.
And most of all at the end of each year,
Keep by me those friends I will always hold so dear.
And as I make new friends I'll treasure the old,
For the firs

Like my grandma use to say if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any at all....Sorry to hear about your problems. What kind of vehicle do you drive that cost that much for tires? That is unreal.......
