A biker story...

A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A reporter has seen the whole scene, and addressing the biker, says

- Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life.

- Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.

- Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's papers will have this on the first page. What motorcycle do you ride?

- A Harley Davidson.

The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on first page:

BIKER GANG MEMBER ASSAULTS AFRICAN
IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH.

Answer to "Is your mind normal" test

No peeking until you take the test!!!! If you haven't taken the test, then you need to go HERE first.

If you're ready to find out the results....

You just thought about a Red Hammer didn't you?

If you didn't, you are among 2% of people who have a different, if not abnormal, mind. 98% of the folks would answer a red hammer while doing this exercise.

Oh... I am among the 98% as I answered... red hammer, too. I'm miffed at how and why this works. Never in a million years would I connect the notion of a "red hammer" to doing a series of addition problems in my head. In any case... this is pretty cool if you ask me.

Once again... my sincere thanks to my friend Pam for posting this. Please do visit her profile!

Is your mind normal?

My sincere thanks to my friend Pam for posting this. I do encourage you to visit her profile!

I cannot and do not take credit for this and I'm not sure the origin of it. I would be FASCINATED to know the psychology behind it. If you know where this test came from or why it works the way it does, I'd love to hear from you. This is really cool...

At the end of this, you are asked a question. Answer it immediately, don't stop and think about it. Just say the first thing that pops into your mind.

This is a fun test and kind of spooky at the same time. Give it a try, then post your results as 98% or 2%; you'll understand at the end of the test.

Follow the instructions as quickly as possible. Do not go to the next calculation before you have finished the previous one.

You don't have to write anything down, nor remember any of your answers. Just do it using your mind, and you will be surprised.

Credit where credit is due...

I thought it would be cool to give credit where credit was due. The following shows the people in my down-line team sorted by the number of referrals they have made. It's through all their efforts that we've gotten as far as we have as team!

If you're reading this, I'd like to encourage you to add my leaders to your friends list... they "get it" and they're working hard for all our benefit.

For the members of my team who are looking at this: remember... your goal is to find at least five people to put on your first level who will do the same. If you don't have five people under you who are working to get their own five yet, keep at it! You *CAN* and *WILL* do it if you stay with it. I am always here to help if you need it... just ask!

Thanks to all of you!

Scott.

One month on Yuwie! My referral tree...

Well, I'm officially five hours from my one month anniversary on Yuwie... here's my referral tree as of this evening. I would have liked to hit 200, but this is close enough.

No free referrals here either... I worked for every one and I'm proud of my entire team. Great job to you all.. thanks for helping make it happen for all of us.

This should scare the pants off of you...

I subscribe to the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) RSS news feed of health advisories and new drug news. I do this for a host of reasons not the least of which is that I sell a natural food supplement which makes health a concern of mine and, frankly, my own concern for knowing what is happening in the world of drugs that doesn't make it to the 6pm news.

This morning there's a new alert and yet another FDA approved drug that is making people sick when used correctly according to prescr i ption. Today's latest bulletin is for Heparin which may lead to hypotension, allergic reactions and worse. Doctors are advised to "Closely monitor the patient for adverse events, particularly hypotension and signs and symptoms of hypersensitivity and ensure that resuscitation equipment is available" when administering Heparin in high "bolus" doses.

Resuscitation equipment?! Yeesh!

One of the things I come across most often when I talk to people about using mangosteen as a natural supplement in their diets to aid with general health, to try and address issues they have with pain or as an aid with health conditions is the argument that it is not "FDA Approved" and that there are no clinical double blind studies done to "prove" its value.

Well... that's true. Mangosteen juice in general, and XanGo in particular, have never been approved by the FDA -- and never will be. They're food, not drugs, and you don't get FDA approval for food. It's also true that there have been few double blind studies done on mangosteen, though the body of evidence is growing as more and more research IS being done as is evidenced by the growing body of scientific research papers listed at the US National Library of Medicine.

However, that does not alter the fact that mangosteen has been used successfully for hundreds of years as a natural remedy. In fact, Dr. Duke's Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Database on the USDA web site lists over 200 medical conditions for which mangosteen contains active compounds. Mind you, that DOES NOT mean it will cure anything! It does, however, support the question of why traditional healers have relied on mangosteen for so many years.

The bottom line is that mangosteen is new as a health and wellness product and in spite of the hundreds of years of practical use in traditional healing, in spite of the lists of known active compounds, in spite of the promise of the research that's going on, it has never been proven to treat or cure anything. It has been tested to show that is has no known toxicity levels and no known food/drug interactions, but it has not undergone the testing need to be able to publicly claim it treats or cures any disease. Period.

That's not the stuff that should scare you though. What should scare you is what the drugs the FDA *does* approve can do to you. Many thousands of people die every year as a result of the use of properly prescribed prescr i ption drugs that were taken according to the prescribed dosage. Heath Ledger is the most recent and famous example of that sad fact.

More than that, the approval process drugs go through is flawed. Seriously flawed. If you have any doubt, I invite you to visit the FDA's own web site and read the notices that they post: http://www.fda.gov/opacom/hpnews.html -- there are already three public health advisories regarding the use of FDA approved drugs just in the month of February and it's only the 11th... Chantix, Botox and today Heparin.

And it isn't just prescr i ption drugs... the same is true of the drugs you buy at your local drug store or at the grocery store. You think they are safe because they're so readily available, but they're not.

The truth is, the only things the FDA regulates are the ones that can kill you. And while the testing process they go through can quantify how reliable the drug is in achieving some beneficial result in treating a specific ailment, the tests cannot and do not tell you what the long term risks of that drug is nor can it ever tell your either what the potential results are of mixing it with a myriad of other possible drug combinations nor how your unique body will react to it.

The simple fact is that drugs are dangerous... even when double blind tested and FDA approved. The key to good health is not throwing drugs at your illnesses after you have them, it's in taking every positive action you can to try and prevent them in the first place... eating healthy, avoiding the use of and exposure to chemicals, providing your body the natural supplements it needs to offset what is missing in your modern diet and getting proper exercise.

When you are confronted with illness, do not rely solely on a prescr i ption from your doctor to fix it for you. You have to take an active role in the healing process... increase your intake of clean water, increase your dietary supplementation and make sure you're eating foods that provide your body the nutrients it needs to heal.

Remember... doctors only have a license to PRACTICE medicine. It is not an exact science. All drugs are inherently dangerous and even some foods can be. Know what you are putting in your body and be honest about the risks you are taking. Know what the potential side effects are and when you're taking more than one drug at a time, be hyper alert for the potential of interactions.

Drugs are not a panacea! The US spends billions of dollars a year on drugs and medicine and ranks 79th in the world for public health. In the US, you hire a doctor when you get sick, in much of the world you fire your doctor when you get sick. The key to your good health is prevention. Do NOT rely on drugs as the only solution to your health concerns.

I highly recommend subscribing to the FDA's RSS news feed so you can keep up with the dangers you are facing daily. Medicine is a good thing, but you have to know the risks.

Scott.

A free way to advertise for Yuwie referrals...

I'm actually a bit surprised at some of the grief I got for posting this as a comment. I understand that some people are not on Yuwie looking to make money, but most are, and I honestly would think most would appreciate knowing about a free way to advertise for referrals.

As I have taught in the past, the key to success on Yuwie is *NOT* about how many page referrals you have on your profile. You need a million page hits to make $50 at an RSR of $0.50 -- that's a lot of work for not much money! They key to making money on Yuwie is to build a down line (referral tree) into the tenth level and accumulate those page hits. One million page hits on your tenth level earns you $150 at an RSR of $0.50 and if you use the 5x5 recruiting method I teach, you'll have almost 2 million people on your tenth level some day... that's $300 a day if they get just one page hit a day.

So, the trick is to get referrals and I am in the process of creating an audio blog to try and teach effective recruiting. Until then, this is a tool you can use to get people to look at your Yuwie referral page (or landing page if you use one) or, for that matter, to advertise any website or business you may have.

Begin by going to my referral link: http://www.t2000ultra.com/?rid=27640 and read the page. Near the bottom you will find links to six advertisements and, yes, two of them are mine. You view each advertisement for 15 seconds and you'll be given a code number that you type into the form. Get all six codes and enter them in the form then submit it and it will create your own t2000ultra account which you can use to advertise your business, your Yuwie referral address, whatever you like. Your advertisement will be placed at the top of the list of six advertisements and everyone else's will get pushed down one with the last one "falling off" the end.

You will then have your own t2000ultra link just like mine only with your new advertisement at the top. You then share your link with people you know who have a website or business to advertise and every one of them who signs up will have looked at all six ads, including mine and yours, and put their ad at the top, then they share it with people they know, and so on. The more people who share it, the more people who look at your ad and click it for at least 15 seconds.

In effect, it works just like Yuwie does and it is completely free. All you have to do is look at six ads, add your ad to it and share it with others just like how you tell people about Yuwie right now. The more people who look at it, the more people who see your ad and the more Yuwie referrals (or business referrals) you get out of it.

I thought that posting this free way to advertise in people's comments would be something they would appreciate. I'm not sure why some found it offensive, I guess some people just think advertising in general is evil or something.

Anyway, I hope this link helps you build your Yuwie down line, or any other business you may have. Do it right and you really could have thousand, hundreds of thousands or even millions looking at your ads for free... all it requires is a little sweat equity on your part.

Here's to everyone's success... health, wealth and happiness!

Scott.

Just say NO to diet soft drinks...

An excerpt from The Blaylock Wellness Report's "The Fat Cure: Health Secrets to Losing Weight Permanently" follows:

Obesity Secret Ignored
By Dr. Russell Blaylock

I am convinced that one of the leading causes of obesity is being totally ignored by both by public officials and the media, despite the fact that there is tremendous scientific evidence confirming its role.

In 1969, neuroscientist Dr. John Olney discovered that feeding newborn rats MSG (monosodium glutamate) caused them to become grossly obese.

Each time he repeated the experiment, he saw the same thing. Subsequent studies have shown that this phenomenon occurred in most animal species, indicating that it wasn't something peculiar to the rat.

The effects of MSG are now so well established that the substance is routinely used in experimental obesity studies on animals.

In fact, scientists have also discovered how it was producing the obesity.

For over fifty years, researchers knew that a pinpoint injury to certain parts of the hypothalamus portion of the brain would cause an animal to become grossly obese. What they would later discover was that MSG itself actually destroys the same area in the hypothalamus.

An intensive 1995 review of MSG toxicity by the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) concluded that infant formula contained a dose of glutamate (the toxic ingredient in MSG) in the form of caseinate (cow's milk protein) that would sufficiently produce the very same brain injury seen in experimental animals.

Disturbingly humans are five times more susceptible to MSG toxicity than even the most sensitive lab animal. And babies are four times more sensitive than adults. It is this early exposure to MSG and other excitotoxins that leads to gross obesity.

Actually, the problem is much worse than that.

Recent studies have shown that obese animals actually have the metabolic syndrome, which is now seen in 50 million adults in the United States. You will remember from my previous newsletter "The Diabetes Solution" that the metabolic syndrome is the cause of type-2 diabetes as well as hypertension and atherosclerosis.

Essentially, science proves that excitotoxins can trigger the metabolic syndrome and obesity.

And we know that the level of excitotoxins added to our food is at least equal to (and sometimes exceeds) the amount needed to produce the metabolic syndrome in animals. Yet only a handful of scientists are addressing this alarming association.

Recent studies have shown that glutamate (MSG and other excitotoxins) can powerfully stimulate the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas.

Excess insulin can cause atherosclerosis, hypertension and the type-2 diabetes â€” by stimulating chronic inflammation. And remember that insulin resistance can also lead to high insulin levels. Of course, the obese MSG animals experience all this as well.

It all fits in with what we are seeing in human beings. And one other part of the obesity puzzle has recently been pieced together.

In discussions about obesity, you may have heard about something called leptin. This enigmatic chemical is produced in the fat cells and controls many things, including fat accumulation.

Normally, when leptin surges into the blood, it enters the brain and acts within a specific group of neurons inside the hypothalamus to powerfully suppress the appetite and increase fat burning, thereby making us thinner.

But MSG and other excitotoxins damage the very nucleus of brain cells needed to do this. Those cells are known as the arcuate nucleus.

In fact, this vital collection of neurons is the area of the brain most sensitive to excitotoxins. In experiments, MSG rendered leptin ineffective, causing the animals to become grossly obese. Scientists call this leptin resistance, an occurrence linked to obesity in both children and adults.

Also, excitotoxins like MSG cause more glucose to enter fat cells, preventing it from being burned in muscle cells as it should. As a result, more fat accumulates â€” especially around organs and within the abdomen (visceral fat).

You may recall from the diabetes newsletter that this visceral fat is the root of all the of the metabolic syndrome's bad effects. The bottom line:

We see that the excitotoxins added to our food can induce gross obesity through a number of mechanisms.

And we must remember that while it is soon after birth that a child is first exposed to foods containing MSG and other excitotoxins, the effects persist for a lifetime.

Unbelievably, dietitian, medical doctors and many public institutions are promoting the use of "diet" soft drinks and other foods sweetened with aspartame (NutraSweetâ„¢, Equalâ„¢, etc) as the answer to the problem of obesity.

Aspartame is made up of three components: phenylalanine, methanol and aspartic acid. Aspartic acid (aspartate), like glutamate, is an excitotoxin.

It is just as capable as glutamate of doing damage to cells and brain nuclei.

In fact, one of the acknowledged effects of aspartame is weight gain.

The FDA even lists increased weight as one result of using the sweetener. Like glutamate, aspartame stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin, making you hungry — especially for sweets. And the more you drink, the hungrier you get. Just like glutamate, aspartame destroys the arcuate nucleus, which in turn produces leptin resistance. As a result, you get fat.
